When I was young, the stories of successful people filled me with hope and inspiration. Their message was clear: through hard work, perseverance, and a belief in your potential, you can achieve anything. Those stories drove me forward, reminding me that no matter the obstacles, I had the power to shape my own future.
Yet lately, that message seems to have shifted. Instead of hearing about triumph over adversity, we’re often told that the system is against us, that we’re powerless, and that giving up might be easier. But to me, this doesn’t align with the true spirit of who we are as people. We aren’t meant to surrender when times get tough—we’re meant to grow stronger, to rise to the occasion.
Look at the course of our lives from the very beginning. We start by crawling before we walk, by babbling before we speak. Every step forward is a reflection of our innate drive to progress. And that drive stays with us throughout life, defining what success and achievement truly mean.
To me, success is more than wealth or status. It’s about the meaningful impact we have on the world around us. It’s about building stronger, safer communities. It’s about creating homes where our children can grow up with joy and security. It’s about seeking new experiences, embracing love, and finding peace in our lives. These are the things that make us truly successful, and they are within our reach if we remain empowered.
This is why I am running to represent our community in Congress. I believe that we need leadership that understands the struggles we face and shares our vision for the future. I work two jobs just to stay afloat in this economy, but it’s worth it because I love Denver, and like many of you, I’m not going anywhere. This is my home, and I know it’s your home too. We are a community built on the shoulders of great people, and now it’s up to us to continue that legacy for the next generation.
Our current representative has served for 27 years, and while I respect her long tenure and the work she has done, I believe that our community has evolved, and so must our leadership. The challenges we face today demand fresh ideas, a renewed focus, and leadership that truly understands the realities of life in Denver right now. It’s not about rejecting the past—it’s about embracing the future with a leader who lives and breathes the same realities you do every day.
So, let’s reject the notion that we are victims of circumstance. Let’s embrace our power to shape our own future. Together, we can build a world where success is measured by the richness of our lives, the love we share, and the strength of our communities. This is true achievement—and it’s worth striving for, every day.
I am ready to lead that charge, and I invite you to join me. Let’s create the future we’ve worked hard for and earned together.
