On Monday, I had the honor of debating Congresswoman Dianna DeGette, who has represented Colorado’s District One for 27 years. This wasn’t the typical debate we’ve grown so tired of watching.

There were no insults, no attempts to twist facts, no empty theatrics.

Instead, we discussed real differences, about what this district needs now and in the future. It was the kind of debate voters deserve—honest, respectful, and driven by a passion for making a difference.

So, let me be clear:

if you’re looking for experience, Dianna DeGette wins that hands down. She’s been in Congress for almost three decades, serving with quiet dignity.

In an era where too many politicians will do anything for a headline or a social media boost, she has remained focused on her role. I commend her for that. She is loyal to the Democratic Party and has done her best to advance its values in Washington.

But ask yourself—what has changed for District One?

Are things truly better after nearly three decades of being represented by the same person? Do you feel you have a voice in Washington? That you are represented in the laws that are passed?

If you believe that Washington needs a new voice—one that speaks for you and not just for a political party—then I’m asking you to consider voting for me.

Unlike Congresswoman DeGette, I’m not just a vote for the Republican Party. I’m a vote for District One, for the people who live and work here.

I’m not interested in playing party games in Washington. My sole mission is to represent you—the people who are struggling with rising grocery bills, who wonder why our government can’t balance its budget, and who feel like your voice is lost in a sea of political noise.

Our Founders didn’t create Congress to serve the interests of the party in power—they created it to serve you. They wanted representatives who lived in the community, who understood your struggles firsthand, and who would fight for your freedoms. That’s what I believe.

That’s why I’m running.

It breaks my heart when I hear the phrase “elections have consequences,” as if we are supposed to live in fear of the next political shift. That’s not what democracy is about. If an election’s outcome brings dire consequences, then the problem isn’t the election—it’s the people we’ve been sending to Washington.

I’m running because we need to change that. There will be no disastrous “consequences” if you elect me.

Yes, I am a Republican, but I’m not afraid to challenge my party when it’s wrong. I’ve done it before, and I’ll do it again if it means standing up for this district.

Congresswoman DeGette, as much as she has served with grace, cannot make you that same promise. Her loyalty lies with the Democratic Party, and she has never wavered from that.

We don’t know what 2024 will bring—who will be president, which party will control Congress—but here’s what I know: District One needs a representative who will stand strong, no matter which way the political winds blow. If Republicans retain control of the House, you’ll need someone who can push back when the majority overreaches. If Democrats take back control, you’ll need a voice that can bring balance and challenge bad policies. That voice needs to be flexible, strong, and independent—and I believe I’m that voice.

We’ve done the same thing in Congress for too long, and things aren’t improving.

District One is still facing the same challenges, and it’s time to try something new. I’m asking you to take a chance on change, on a new way of doing things. I live here with you. I feel the same frustrations, the same struggles. If I fail, I have to live with the consequences too, right here in our community. That gives me every incentive to succeed.

Let’s see what we can achieve together. Let’s take this opportunity to Level up Denver—to elevate our voices, to demand more, and to build a better future for everyone in District One.

We’ve been waiting for change for long enough. Let’s make it happen. Vote for me, and let’s move forward, fully united and together.
